Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 8 large lettuce leaves iceberg, romaine, or butter lettuce
  • 1 small cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1 small bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot julienned
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or light mayonnaise or garlic sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili flakes optional
  • Salt to taste

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method

Wash the Lettuce
  1. Take fresh lettuce leaves. Wash them under clean water and dry them well with a paper towel. This keeps the leaves crisp and fresh.
Prepare the Chicken
  1. Use cooked chicken. You can shred it with your hands or cut it into small bite-size pieces with a knife. Both work fine.
Chop the Vegetables
  1. Slice cucumber, bell pepper, and carrot into thin pieces. This makes the wrap crunchy and colorful.
Mix the Filling
  1. In a large bowl, add the chicken, chopped veggies, sauce of your choice, cilantro, and spices. Mix everything well so the flavors blend together.
Fill the Lettuce Leaf
  1. Take one clean lettuce leaf and place it flat on a plate. Put some chicken mixture in the center. Add extra veggies if you like.
Roll the Wrap
  1. Fold the lettuce leaf gently from the sides and roll it up like a small wrap. Be careful so the filling doesn’t fall out.
Serve Fresh
  1. Repeat the same steps with the rest of the lettuce leaves. Serve your healthy chicken lettuce wraps right away for the best taste.

Notes

  • Use grilled chicken for a smoky taste and extra flavor.
  • Add avocado, cheese, or nuts if you want a richer and creamier wrap.
  • For spice lovers, drizzle chili sauce or sriracha before rolling the wrap.
  • Always dry the lettuce leaves fully. Wet leaves can tear and make the wrap soggy.
  • Best enjoyed fresh. Do not store for long, as lettuce loses crispness.
  • You can also make the filling in advance and just assemble when ready to eat.
